THE DROP

KABIR’S KOAN (the 15th Century Indian Mystic Poet): “All know that THE DROP merges into the ocean, but few know- that THE OCEAN merges into THE DROP.”

RUMI’S EPHIPHANY (the 13th Century Poet): “We are THE MIRROR, as well as THE FACE in it.”

The following excerpt from my book, LEVER IN YOUR MIND, further poeticizes this wonderment:
1.“When the whole world becomes REVEALED- without opening your eyes.”
2.“When a solitary moment in time- STOPS TIME ITSELF, and THAT MAGIC is forever captured within the moment.”
3.“When the expansive universe- now fits into the EXPANDED SELF.”
4.“When distance- lacks significance, and the boundaries of physical separation no longer affect the ETERNAL CONNECTION.”
5.“When a MERE GLANCE between strangers- communicates more than a myriad of words spoken over a lifetime.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI summarized it best with this witticism: “The objective world is in the subjective consciousness.”

QUANTUM PHYSICS:
Experiments with Quantum Particles suggest that distance & separation that seem to cut us off from one another- are physical illusions. “It appears that once something is joined, IT IS ALWAYS CONNECTED, whether it remains physically linked or not.…regardless of how much space separates two things, once joined they are always connected.”- The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden

P.S. Fortunately, I was raised by a UNICORN, (a very unique, creative, compassionate, and insightful human being). I’ll give you an example of his perceptivity: Every time I would compliment my dear father, afterwards he would respond, “Look in the mirror.” You see, he would customarily- REVERSE THE COMPLIMENT 😊! He was that humble…After some time, I caught on & when he complimented me, I would tender his patented response, “Look in the mirror!” And, you know what he would say thereafter?

.....He replied, ”I SEE YOU!” …OH MY-MY, how spot-on accurate & telling that statement was! Yeah, we would both chuckle afterwards. But it reaffirmed the ALCHEMY that took place between us. You see, we had BECOME ONE… We transcended the Father-Son (Coach-Player) Paradigm and became BEST FRIENDS.  Through him I learned a myriad of lessons, the biggest of which was LOVE. I remember asking him (when I was older)- what motivated him to work every weekend (but one) in a year? Having 3 children, I expected him to say something along the lines of financial needs. But do you know what his reply was? A one-word (totally unexpected) response: “…LOVE.” Come on! That was sooooo him. For, his love was flawless (protective, medicinal, and inspirational). To me- he was HOME. I TOOK HIM IN: I DRANK him, absorbed him, and BECAME him. My mother & I performed hospice care for this GREAT MAN- one of the best times of my life. I was so honored to shave him daily, wheel him outside to feel the fresh air, and to comfort him in any way conceivable. We said everything we could possibly say to each other- to the point where a SIMPLE LOOK was all that was needed to communicate at the end. Truly, THE OCEAN merged into THE DROP! Why, even my father admitted that he shaped me LIKE CLAY. Indeed, the Artist, his Art and the Canvas are forever INSEPARABLE! Tear-DROPS (of joy 😊) …from the Lookout Post.

B.P.S. This one’s for you, Lily!... (Oliviero’s endearing childhood nickname). I don’t think anybody else in the family knew that. Man, I miss his touch (those strong working-man hands). I will cherish forever, one of the last conversations we had. He promised me that he would be with me- “In this world & the next.” FYI: This is a man that NEVER breaks his promise…
